The Denver Nuggets complete the 4 - 0 sweep over the Los Angeles Lakers 113 - 111 last May 23, 2023, at the Crypto.com Arena in LA.
A night that is one for the history books, Nikola Jokić and the city of Denver will be going to their first-ever NBA Finals appearance after completely demolishing LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Jokić, with yet another triple-double, carried the Nuggets posting 30 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 assists, while the team also got a great boost from Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon, recording 25 and 22 points, respectively.
On the Lakers’ side, LeBron, despite being 38 years old, recorded 40 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists, with 48 minutes of playtime.
Ultimately, this incredible effort from James came short as the Nuggets were able to get the dub with just a two-point lead, and a great defensive stop in the last possession of the game, denying the Lakers’ chance to push the game into overtime.
The Nuggets are currently waiting for the Eastern Conference Finals to finish between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics, where Miami has a 3 - 1 lead in the series.
LeBron, who is in his 20th year in the league, has hinted at retirement during the post-game press conference but continues to say that he is still going to figure things out in terms of the game of basketball.
