Filipino Swifties: The Eras Tour

Hear us out, Miss Taylor Swift! 𝘞𝘦’𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦; 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨.

Whether you are a diehard, a newbie, or a Swiftie at heart, everyone is stoked to hear that Taylor is finally going on tour after five years. The Eras Tour, which celebrates her music career from her debut to her latest album–Midnights, has been touring around the United States since March 17.

Filipino fans gathered for The Eras Festival in Manila last March 31, 2023, at Ayala Malls Manila Bay. Swifties Philippines, led by Lele Suizo and Chelsea Guieb, hosted the event not only to catch Taylor’s attention and have her include the Philippines in her Eras Tour but also to celebrate her music journey. Ayala Malls Manila Bay was swarmed by Swifties, and filled up three floors! The festival was no joke; it wasn’t a small gathering at all. They had guests such as the Drag Queen Taylor Sheesh, and along with their eventful program, they had booths, games, prizes, and freebies for the participants.

There are also events held for the same purpose in other parts of the country: Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Tacloban, and Leyte, all to catch Taylor’s attention and campaign for the Eras Tour here. The Eras Festival in Manila was not the first gathering by Swifties Philippines. They also held a double celebration for Taylor’s birthday and Christmas in December 2022 called “Swiftmas and Birthday Celebration,” a Midnights listening party called “Midnights Mayhem in Mall of Asia,” a gathering at Robinsons Galleria called “BEJEWELED NIGHT,” and many more.

Her first and last concert in the Philippines was the Red Tour in June 2014, almost nine years ago! Many Swifties were still so young at the time and of course, they want her to return to the country again. The Swiftie community has been growing enormously, especially since her back-to-back album release of Folklore and Evermore in 2020 and her re-recordings of her old albums Fearless and Red. I think that Tiktok has been a great platform for spreading her music to both former and non-fans. Bejeweled has been trending because of its addicting moves from Filipino Swiftie, Mikael Arellano. Also, her re-recordings have awakened former diehard Swifties to stream both her old and new music again.

𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘨𝘰 𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘯, 𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭. Miss Blondie has been getting all the love she deserves. These events mostly don’t have entrance fees and are supported by different sponsors- who came together to show both support and love for Taylor. Hopefully, we catch her attention and she comes back to the Philippines for her Eras Tour.

𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬, 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦, Taytay! We all will be waiting for you!
