or the past month, schools have finally started a new academic year. And as we all know, every time “back to school” happens, new memes would surface on the internet.

Now that face-to-face classes are back in session after years of being stuck in online classes, an internet phenomenon sparked among young Filipino students as well as others when they found out of a new school emerging: 𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐏 𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬.

This is not a real school, but merely a make-up school built upon Filipino and even international memes. ISCP instantly became a hit with young people for its witty humor and hilarious fake courses and branches. ISCP is “located” in different places inside our universe. From the Sun campus, Biringan City campus, Outer Space extension, Bermuda Triangle extension, to even the Hogwarts campus, and more!

ISCP offers different courses and programs with different “specializations”. Some of them are the following: BS Psychology Major in Gaslighting, BA Martial Arts Major in Self Defense (under the supervision of Robin Padilla), BS Marine Technology (special course offered only in Atlantis extension), BS Vulcanizing Major in Geology, and more that only gets funnier after the other.

These courses and programs were led by different people, namely Ella Cruz as the Dean of the College of Philippine History, Kuya Kim Atienza as the Dean of the College of Education, and Richard Gomez as the Dean of the College of Fine Arts. These play on people and the irony between them and some issues just makes it funnier and more meme-worthy.

But the page is not the only one sharing its memes, a new Facebook Group also surfaced when the ISCP main page gathered a lot of attention, where people can make and share their memes.

A lot of people joined in on the trend and made memes that are sometimes even funnier than the original creator of ISCP. The school not only garnered attention from the Filipinos, but they also gained a lot of interaction from celebrities, social media providers, businesses, apps, and different personalities who played along and interacted with the memes. Netflix Philippines even posted their take on the ISCP courses.

What is good with the ISCP Online Phenomenon is that people have showcased their talents on the ISCP Facebook group. People have shared edits of their own ISCP Logo animations, ISCP Campus 3D models, graphics and publication materials, hymns and sound design, advertisements, uniforms, and merchandise for the said school. This only proves how witty Filipinos are. Also, this phenomenon proved that we are also as talented as much as we can make fun of anything.

BUT WAIT… In more recent news, is ISCP Entering their 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐩 𝐄𝐫𝐚? The page recently announced that they are apolitical and want to stay neutral - in a world where everything is affected by politics, being neutral is siding with the oppressors. They could have used their influence for good, But what is your take on this? Let us know in the comments section below!

(P.S. ISCP - Main Campus is now offering a BS Apolitical Science major in Neutralizer ni Mes Hart.)
