𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 is a Filipino boy group survival show produced by a joint venture between ABS-CBN, MLD Entertainment, and KAMP Global. The first episode aired last November 19, 2022, continuing every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 PM PHT on YouTube and Kapamilya Live. With the same mechanics as Korean reality shows, the seven highest-ranking trainees (decided by points from mentors and votes from fans) win the show and debut in a group.

However, the winners of Dream Maker will not debut as a P-Pop group but rather set their debut in South Korea. Furthermore, the mentors are a mix of Filipino and South Koreans with a strong experience in the entertainment industry. Notable judges include the well-renowned South Korean dance choreographer 𝗕𝗮𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗴 and Filipina pop singer 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 among others. Thus, netizens have raised their expectations for the trainees and the show. While the program has garnered a decent amount of support and attention locally, Korean reality shows such as Girls Planet 999, I-LAND, and the like are more popular.

The show started with an individual evaluation, where trainees (called Dream Chasers) performed a song and then received points from the judges accordingly. The seven highest-ranking members are given a special badge as a sign of recognition for their talent. As the mentors’ evaluation comes to an end, Dream Chaser 𝗝𝗮𝘆-𝗥 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗼 is the one to rank first.

After the initial evaluation, the next course of action was training for the signal song, Take My Hand, with Dream Chaser 𝗩𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻 as the center. Like the Produce series, the trainees are divided into letter tiers (A, B, and C) depending on their performance. Trainees on the A rank get the most screen time, while the ones at C tier are at the far back. The signal song turned out to be a hit among the netizens because its official music video currently has almost 400,000 views.

After the signal song production, the Dream Chasers went through three missions so far: Group Battle, Position Mission, and K-pop Song Launch Mission. Group Battle lumps trainees together in a group to test their adaptability in a team. The winning team gets additional points for their total score, which helps them remain safe from elimination. For the Position Mission, the Dream Chasers had to compete to be the best in a particular position (vocals, dance, and rap). The best from their team gets 50 points, and the declared overall best vocalist, dancer, and rapper get 100 instead. Lastly, for the K-pop Song Launch Mission: trainees performed new songs produced by Dream Mentor 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗹$𝗘𝘆𝗘 in groups. The first and second best teams for this competition get benefit points.

After each mission, the ranks of every trainee will change, with a certain number of trainees ending their journey in Dream Maker. While the show started with 62 trainees: 44 remained after the first mission, and 28 after the second. After both elimination nights, Dream Chaser 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗰 took the lead and stayed consistent as the first ranker.

With the finale arriving this February 12, who will be successful in pursuing their endeavors to debut to stardom? Remember, your votes play a part in their futures. If you want to know what happens next, do not forget to stay tuned for this week's episode. 𝘼𝙟𝙖, 𝘿𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙨, 𝙛𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜!
